10th - 11th May 2008

More mills and mill groups in Norfolk marked National Mills Weekend 2008 than ever before!

 

Amongst those open were:

 

Thurne mill

Thurne Drainage pump opened to celebrate the life of Bob Morse who rescued it from dereliction and to thank Norfolk Windmill Trust, the Broads Authority and millwright Vincent Pargeter who have all helped with restoring it to working condition.

Thrigby postmill was opened to villagers and mill groups by the new owner Peter Gillett and his family.

Letheringsett watermill

Letheringsett watermill was open and working.

Friends of Letheringsett took the opportunity to visit both Thrigby, Thurne and discuss mills over lunch.

Hardley drainage mill
Hardley mill near Langley, opened for visitors to see the latest progress in it's restoration by it's hard working volunteers.

Other Norfolk mills open over the weekend included Old_Buckenham_mill and Denver mill.
